Customer Requirements – The Need for Certified Training

Recently, we completed a certification training program at a customer site, where six employees were trained in both operation and support of their robotic metallizing system for large steel components. The training was delivered by our specialist team, consisting of a robotics engineer and a robotics technician.

Over two intensive weeks, participants received comprehensive instruction in the robot’s entire operating system, including:

  • Operating system functions and interface
  • Production programming, enabling the customer to independently update programs and change workpieces in the system as required
  • Troubleshooting, maintenance, and process optimization

As a result of this certification, the customer now has in-house competencies to operate and service their robotic solution. This provides a clear advantage in terms of operational reliability and production flexibility.

Automated Robotic Solution for Metallizing

The automated robotic system described above efficiently applies zinc coatings to large steel components. That is a process traditionally handled manually, amd is often often time-consuming and challenging from a working environment perspective.

The solution consists of two synchronized robotic arms, specially programmed to handle large components with high precision and uniformity. Through integrated advanced process control, the system ensures accurate and consistent zinc application. This significantly improves corrosion protection while reducing material consumption and waste.

At the same time, operator exposure to hazardous particles and materials is minimized, resulting in a substantially improved working environment.

The results achieved at the customer’s facility clearly demonstrate the value of automation: increased productivity, improved coating consistency, and reduced processing time and operating costs, which clearly indicates how our robotic technology enhances both quality and profitability in heavy industrial processes.

Today, the customer is able to independently operate the majority of the metallizing robot’s daily production without direct involvement from Clemco Denmark.
