Clemco Danmark A/S has recently completed the delivery and installation of a fully customized metallizing robot cell for a major gas cylinder manufacturer in Asia. The project is part of a larger production line where our robotic system integrates with multiple technical interfaces and suppliers, requiring strict coordination and adherence to production timelines.
Tailored Robotic Solution for Complete Cylinder Metallizing
The robot cell which is developed specifically for the metallizing process, includes a fully enclosed cabin, ventilation system, and advanced process equipment. Before being painted, each gas cylinder must undergo thermal metallizing to create a corrosion-resistant coating, and this is where Clemco Danmark’s solution comes into play.
At the core of the system is a customized robotic setup equipped with a dual-axis manipulator arm and multiple metallizing spray guns, each assigned to a specific task:
- One spray gun coats the top of the cylinder
- One is dedicated to the bottom
- And one handles the cylindrical body
This targeted, automated approach ensures consistent quality, optimal coverage, and increased efficiency throughout the production process.
Scalable and high performance metallizing cell
This precise and automated setup ensures consistent coverage and optimal quality, regardless of the cylinder type. The system is configured to handle four different types of gas cylinders, ranging from small household cylinders to heavy industrial models weighing up to 45 kg.
Although the current line is optimized for a production rate of 100 cylinders per hour, our solution can scale to 250 cylinders per hour, delivering the flexibility to grow as demand increases.
